Tryavna town – piece of the Bulgarian culture
The town of Tryavna is situated in a narrow valley of the Tryavna Balkan MountainThe small mountain town (with less than 13,000 inhabitants) is halved by the Dryanovska river, which adds to its enchantment. Tryavna town is one of the pearl of the Bulgarian Renaissance architectureEstablished as a village around a church built by the Assen dynasty in the 12th c. AC, the town of Tryavna grew into one of the cultural centres of the Bulgarian Renaissance period. Only Bulgarians lived in the town; the Turks never gained access to it. During the period of the Bulgarian National Revival, the town was heavy involved in the development of crafts. Houses from this period feature their own architectural design. more..........
